Questions people ask
Is a galvanised stock tank hot tub any good? It is a farm trough with a fire coil. It is not a spa: no jets, no thermostat, and you drain it after a few soaks rather than treating the water. For a couple who want to sit in hot water under the stars on their own land, that is exactly the point.
How long does it take to heat? It depends on the size of the fire, the air temperature and whether the cover is on. Nobody's published figure is worth much until you have lit yours. Light it early.
Do I need council approval? Rules differ by state and depend on water depth. At 0.61m deep, most councils treat it differently from a swimming pool, but check yours before you buy.
Can I use it on a total fire ban day? No. An open fire in a coil counts as an open fire.
